Can I use a 12v 2.5a power supply with a TV rated for max 12v 3a?
Hey I’ve got an old magnavox LCD TV and I need a new power cord. Unfortunately Philips just stopped making the official replacement part. I got this TV from an electronics recycling drive so I’m to even sure it works and I don’t want to blow a bunch of money on it if I cant return a power cable that doesn’t work.
Radioshack has an AC adapter that’s 12v 2.5a. the label on the tv says MAX 12v 3a. The max is throwing me off. Is it safe to use the 2.5 a plug with this TV? I also found a 12v 3.33a cheaper. Wuld that extra .33 a be unsafe?
Wow thanks for the quick replies. Fortunately though I managed to find a parts store online that got a few more in. They said they were out of stock before but hopefully they got like the last shipment or something. I know it’s a recent cancellation of the part. Anyway hopefully now I’ll have the proper adapter. If I don’t, I’ll remember your answers. thanks again!
