Why has my computer monitor gone a weird green colour?
For some unknown reason my computer screen has turned a slightly green colour. All cables are securely in place. Anyone know what the problem is and how i can turn it normal again
That normally means that the monitor, which normally receives three signals (a red, a blue, and a green) is not getting one of the signal. So the colors are displayed without one of the color, making everything “green”.
There are three possible causes. The most unlikely is a bad video card. but usually if the card goes bad, you get nothing, not a “green” display. But if everything else fails, try a new video card.
More likely is that the cable between the PC and the monitor has come loose at the back of the computer. Try removing and reattaching it. If it is loose, it can keep one of the signals from coming through,
But the most common cause is that the monitor itself has gone bad. Each of the colors is controlled by a different set of circuits. If one of them dies, you get the “green” (or blue or pink). The cost to repair a monitor usually exceeds the cost of a new one. Replace the monitor.
