Acer p243w monitor shows “No Signal” when switching between HDMI and Dvi-D or powering off?
When I turn on my computer, I can see everything on the monitor, so it’s not a problem with it not working at all. My computer has an old radeon 9800 pro, and is hooked up to the monitor via dvi-d. I also have my Xbox 360 hooked up to the monitor via HDMI. I can use the computer for a long time, until I either turn off the monitor, or switch to the Xbox (yes, I know, when the monitor is off, you can’t see anything lol). If I try to switch back to the computer, it displays no signal, then switches back to the Xbox, even if I was just using the computer a minute before. Yes, the computer is powered on and yes, everything is hooked up correctly. I’m not sure if this is a hardware, or software problem. It’s only with the computer. Thanks
sorry, I meant to say dvi-i, not dvi-d. Not sure if it really matters.
Sounds like a driver problem. Make sure you check your display adapter drivers for compatibility with your X-box. You are right, it should be a simple fix.
I would go into you Device Manager under System in control panel and use the automatic update features first. If that doesn’t work, visit your manufacturer’s web sites and look for software and driver downloads and updates. Stay away from all the idiotic Driver Detectives and non-OEM sites which will attempt to invade your “update” world when you start Googling web sites and update sites for your gear. They are nothing but ripoffs and totally unnecessary, as well as non-productive.
